Dr. Sonia Bolen- Owner/Veterinarian

Sonia grew up right here in Blue Ridge, Va, attending Lord Botetourt High School. After high school she went on to Virginia Tech to complete a Bachelor's degree and then Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She has been in practice for more than 16 years, but has been working in a veterinary hospital since she was a young girl. Dr. Bolen’s dream of being a vet was pretty clear as a young girl. She has worked hard to make that dream come true.  She is married to Scott Bolen, a Vinton native. In her free time, when she isn’t chasing her 10 year old twins around, she likes to travel, read, and enjoy friends and family. Dr. Bolen adopted “Valentine”, a 5 year old pit bull mix. She also has a 19 year old cat, "Chloe", who has been with her since she graduated vet school.



Allison “Allie” – Vet Tech

Allie grew up in Bedford County, graduating from Staunton River High School in 2010. She knew immediately that her love was in the Veterinary field. She has worked at various hospitals, in various positions before coming to Parkway Veterinary Hospital.  In her free time she likes spending it outdoors, floating on the river with friends. Allie has 8 cats, some of which are barn cats on her dad’s farm.  She even has one Sphinx cat “Penny” that lives with her.



Fonda  - Practice Manager

Fonda is originally from Blue Ridge, Virginia. She moved to Myrtle Beach, SC for about 7 1/2 years and is now back in Blue Ridge. She has 20+ years of veterinary experience to help serve your pet. Fonda's favorite activities are walking on the beach, collecting shells, camping, and fishing.  She loves TURTLES!! The things she loves most about the veterinary field is getting to know the pets, watching them grow, and seeing how special they are to their families.


Shawna - Veterinary Assistant

Shawna grew up in Bedford County.  She graduated from Staunton River High School.  She has been in animal medicine for six years.  Shawna has a Great Dane named Jake.  Her favorite things to do are hiking, working out, playing airsoft, going four-wheeling, and riding horses.  Shawna owns and teaches martial arts with her dad at K & S Kenpo Karate.  In her free time, Shawna's hobby is photography.
